Identification methods¶

Acrobat Professional DC and Standard DC are delivered in a single installer and therefore have identical SWIDs. To identify your install, use a combination of the serial number and the LEID contained in the SWID file.

Use this Windows script to automatically get the SWID details.

Because they share a single installer, Pro and Standard GUIDs are identical and not useful for identifying your install.

Licensing identifiers (LEID)¶

Licensing identifiers (LEID) provide a unique way to identify most of Adobe’s licensed products. You will need to know a product’s LEID in the following workflows:

Adobe Acrobat Dc 2015 Serial Number Free This is a SQLite DB which can be opened with SQLite Database Browser.Using SQLite Database Browser, you need to look for the key SN M2. Naturally, the free Adobe Reader XI (Reader 11) for PDF is also downloadable for both oper­ating system platforms – Windows (XP, 7, 8) and Mac OS (Intel). Likewise, it’s a single.exe file for Windows and a.dmg file for Mac. Acrobat Distiller XI, the batch engine for converting other types of documents into PDF files, is included within the Acrobat Pro/Standard downloads below. In line with this policy, support for Adobe Acrobat Classic 2015 and Adobe Acrobat Reader Classic 2015 ends on April 07, 2020. Note: In order to best support our valued customers, the end of product support for Acrobat Classic 2015 has been extended to July 7, 2020.

• Using the APTEE tool to perform licensing and activation tasks.

Note

Once an ETLA serial is provided, the LEID changes for unserialized commands. For both tracks, it becomes V7{}AcrobatETLA-12-Win-GM (on Windows) and V7{}AcrobatETLA-12-Mac-GM (on Macintosh). For example, you would use the “ESR” LEID version to initially serialize, and you would use the “ETLA” version to deactivate or perform any other action with the prtk utility.

Temporary “bridge” LEIDs

To facilitate migration to named user licensing, Adobe issued bridge serial numbers for some Acrobat 2015 users. These serial numbers are associated with different LEIDs. If you are using these bridge serials, you must use the correct LEID when unserializing prior to migrating to a new serial via the PRTK.

Server LEIDs¶

There are also server LEIDs for ETLA serials on version 12.1. While ETLA serials on a server are serialized using any of the product LEIDs for Acrobat DC, Classic 2015, or Classic 201, deserialization requires using the server LEIDs below:

Software identification tags (SWID)¶

Software identification tags (SWIDs) help IT organizations manage software assets by providing the ability to identify the license state of installed software. SWIDs also provide a method for distinguishing between subscription (cloud) and boxed installs.

SWID files are located under ProgramData. For example:

The tag file name is of the format: <regid>_<product_title>-<unique_software_identifier>.swidtag. The values are determined as follows:

• <regid>: regid.1986-12.com.adobe is Adobe’s regid.

• <product_title>: The product name which is the same as the value of <product> in the tag file.

• <unique_software_identifier>: A combination of the product licensing identifier and licensed locale which is the same as the value of <softwareID/unique_id> in the tag file. Locale information is applicable only for products that are not installed in the trial mode.

The SWID file resides in C:ProgramDataregid.1986-12.com.adobe<filename>.swidtag

List of SWIDs¶

Follow the steps below to reserialize Acrobat with a different serial number using the APTEE tool (Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition):

Win
Download the zip file and extract the Adobe_Provisioning_Toolkit_10_0_ALL.exe file.

Mac
Download the zip file and extract the Adobe_Provisioning_Toolkit_10_0_ALL.dmg file.

Open the Command Prompt (Win) or Terminal (Mac) as Administrator, and navigate to the location of the PRTK tool.

Create a prov.xml file using the new serial key. Run the following command with administrative privileges in Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac):


adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=<new serial number> --leid=<Acrobat LEID> --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress [--provfile=<Absolute path to prov.xml>]

Unserialize the existing serial key using the following command:
adobe_prtk --tool=UnSerialize --leid=<LEID> --deactivate --force [–removeSWTag]

Note:

The return code for this command may be 0 or 29.

• Return code 0 - License is deactivated successfully.
• Return code 29 - License is already deactivated on the machine. If a user launches Acrobat post serial expiry date, the serial license is deleted from the machine.

Reserialize Acrobat using the newly created prov.xml file. Use the following command:

adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize [--provfile=<Absolute path to prov.xml>] --stream
